- Payment & General:
Paypal is the only accepted payment option (no e-checks) for international buyers. Prices do not include fees. Buyer will be responsible for fees. I will not do gift payments; please do not ask for them.
I welcome local cash exchange as long as the meeting location is reasonable.
Priority in the line goes to those who leave their Paypal in the comment.
A non-refundable partial payment is expected before I purchase the materials. The rest will be paid before I ship out your item (see pricing section for details).
All first payments will be due within 24 hours of invoice, no exceptions.
No smokers in my house but I live with a shih-tzu. Please be aware if you have allergies.
- Materials & Worksmanship
All items will be made with Spoon Flower’s printed 3.8 oz. organic sateen. It’s a light-weight fabric with a very soft and comfortable hand and a slight sheen (NOT shiny). If you do not like sateen, printed 3.2 oz. regular quilting weight cotton (a little bit thinner than sateen, with a more stiff hand and no sheen) is also available as an option for the same price.
Colours of the actual fabric will inevitably differ slightly from what you see on your computer screen.
All items will be lined with polyester or acetate lining fabric matching the main colour of the printed fabric.
All items will be matched with lace in a coordinating colour. The ivory and red colourways come with metallic gold laces. The black, lavender, and blue colourways come with custom dyed natural laces.
Please note that laces are dyed by hand mixing one or more pigment. It is not a formulaic process. I cannot precisely control and replicate the miniscule portions of dyes for each varying quantities of lace. Furthermore, the two natural laces (cotton and rayon) take dyes slightly differently so they will appear to be slightly different in colour. It is not possible to colour the laces in the exact same shade as the fabric, and colouring results will vary slightly from batch to batch. Please understand these limitations of hand dying.
Please also note that because the items you will receive will be hand made by an individual seamstress, they will not have the same level of mechanical perfection as factory made garments. That means there will be the occasional non-straight stitches and other signs of the fabric being handled by a pair of human hands. You must be aware and comfortable with these idiosyncrasies.
Please also note that because this is an individual operation, I do not have the same level of stocks and resources as a garment factory. That means in terms of notions like ribbons, buttons, thread, lining, and zipper, I can only work with what is in stock at the local fabric stores. I do my best to select materials based on colour match and quality.
Please allow a margin of up to +/-2cm of error for each custom measurement.
All items can be made in either regular (55cm) or tea skirt (70cm) length.
All items will be made based on custom measurements given by the buyer with one exception (see “brand-size” option below).
Buyers must be aware that there are greater risks involved in long-distance commissioning compared to local commissioning because of the less personal nature of the process.
It is essential for you to give me accurate measurements, especially if you’re buying items with a fitted bodice. I strongly recommend getting someone else (preferably someone who knows how to measure bodies) to take your measurements, at least two times, carefully. I can only work with the numbers that are given to me, and I can only be held accountable for these measurements.
For skirts, I need a minimum and a maximum waistband measurement. The minimum should fit comfortably at your natural waist and the maximum should allow the skirt to slip over your hips or your shoulders and chest.
For high waist corset skirts, I need your natural waist measurements only.
For JSKs and OPs, you will be contacted via PM with a thorough list of required measurements.
If you’re uncomfortable with giving me your body measurements and letting me adding the ease for you, you can give me garment measurements instead. This is only recommended under two circumstances. The first is that you have experience with tailoring/sewing for yourself; the second is that you have the perfect-fitting dress whose garment measurements you’re comfortable with replicating.
Thirdly, to better ensure fit, I also offer a fixed “brand-size” measurement. This option is for buyers who are comfortable with wearing non-shirred brand items. “Brand-size” items will be made in Japanese size 11. In a nutshell, they will have a bust measurement of 90cm, waist of 70cm, bodice length of 35cm, armhole of 45cm, side seam of 18cm, shoulder width of 35cm, and overall length of 90/105cm.
Finally, I offer local fitting for small extra fee ($5 if you come to visit me, $10 if I need to make a trip). This is the most precise way to get measured if you’re ordering a fitted item.
- Communication and Deadlines
I strive to provide proactive communication. I will always contact you on the promised dates unless a horrible accident should occur and render me unable to use my hands and type :p
Having said that, please remember to refer back to this timeline if and when you want to ask “where is my stuff.”
About 2 weeks after the reservation period has ended, I will contact you to let you that that all of the materials have arrived/been purchased with photo documentation.
Week 3: buyers of regular skirts will receive a progress update with photo documentation. Expect your fabric to be pre-treated, ironed, cut, and finished at this time.
Week 4: buyers of corset skirt, OPs, and JSKs will receive a progress update with photo documentation. Expect your fabric to be pre-treated, ironed, cut, and finished at this time.
Weeks 5 & 6: buyers of regular skirts will receive pictures of finished products and notices of shipment once all payments have been cleared.
Weeks 7 & 8: buyers of corset skirt, OPs, and JSKs will receive pictures of finished products and notices of shipment once all payments have been cleared.
In the rare even that the goals described above have not been accomplished on time, buyers will be contacted regardless with explanation and an expected future deadline.
I will be online for the next 6 hours so I will try to get back to you immediately if you have questions in that time frame. I try to reply to other inquiries within 12 hours of receiving the message.

Packages do not come with tracking and insurance unless you ask for it. I am not responsible for lost mail.
All shipping costs are estimates within +/-$5.
To USA: packages under 500g (i.e. skirts) can be shipped for as low as $12. Packages between 500g and 1000g can be shipped for as low as $16. Packages over 1000g must be shipped via express mail, starting at $30.
To Canada: vary depending on location. Most packages should cost no more than $15 to ship if using small packet/regular parcel.
To everywhere else: packages under 500g (i.e. skirts) can be shipped for as low as $14. Packages between 500g and 2000g can be shipped for as low as $20-25. I do not recommend the cheapest way of shipping for international buyers because it will take up to 2 months for the packages to arrive in addition to the fact that they are not traceable. Airmail is a bit faster (2-4 weeks). Light packages can be shipped for about $20. Heavier ones can be shipped for $35-45. Global express mail is also available, but it is very expensive ($60+).
Local pickup is available at no extra charge.
